Matthew Fishburn is a bookseller and writer. He is a graduate of the University of Sydney, earning his PhD in 2005, and has taught at the University of Sydney and the University of Western Sydney. A book based on his PhD thesis was published by Palgrave Macmillan (Burning Books). He has also published in journals such as Book History and The Book Collector.

Matthew worked as a senior bookseller at Hordern House for over a decade and still consults on his areas of specialty, particularly early Australian voyages and natural history.
