Dr. Bruce's experiences on the Scotia

Scarce first edition (Rosove's binding variant 'a'). Rudmose Brown's biography of his shipmate and fellow explorer 'contains a valuable account of the [Scotia] expedition's preliminaries and biographical sketches of the officers and expedition associates not given in The Voyage of the Scotia' (Rosove). The five chapters by Burn Murdoch include a good account of the Antarctic expedition of the Dundee Whaling Fleet of 1892-3, in the whaler 'Balaena" as well as of the more important Scottish National Antarctic Expedition in the Scotia.
