Intriguing map of New South Wales and Tasmania prepared by Louis de Freycinet for inclusion in the published account of his expedition titled Voyage autour du monde. This is an example of the first state without numerals. Of special interest is the inset detail of Van Diemen's Land, and two schematic elevation profiles (the first showing altitude from Sydney to Bathurst, the second from Bathurst to Mount Ellendon).
