A summary of some three pages describes the early days of mining in the Northern Territory, from 1869 onwards, including a portrait of pioneer prospector Henry Roberts.Of special note are the five folding maps and plans accompanying this report, including a splendid large folding chromolithographic map of the geological zones of the Kimberley, prepared by A. Vaughan at the Adelaide Surveyor General's Office. Also included is a cross section plan of the Iron Blow gold mine at Yam Creek, and the Mount Ellison copper mine.
