Day is remembered as an innovative publisher who offered interesting maps including the North Atlantic ice fields, telegraphic lines of Europe and steamship routes between Europe and America. As a leading London printer, Day flourished in his role as editor of the trade journal "The Chromolithographer" during the 1850's.
