De le lettere di tredici huomini illustri libri tredici…

Rome: Valerio Dorico, 1554.

Small octavo, italic letter, guide-letters for initials; olive morocco gilt, gilt edges, silk tie.

Fine early anthology of letters by famous men, including Giovio, Bernardo Tasso, Annibal Caro and others. The delightful binding is attributed in an old owner's note to Padeloup. There are a few early owner's notes in pen, some correcting typographical errors including a footnote where "dodeci" is changed to "tredici" in the title of the work, indicating that it grew in scope while in the press.
