A fine view of the Derwent River, one of only two Tasmanian illustrations published from the La Place voyage. The Favorite arrived in Hobart on 11 July 1831, both ship and crew in a weakened condition. Their stay was almost a month; several of the crew died whilst others spent the time in hospital. "Those who were fit were able to relax and enjoy the hospitality of the local citizens, whom they found courteous but somewhat solemn and dull" (Dunmore, II, p. 251).
