Handcoloured print of the Australian species Oxylobium Ovalifoloium, from Swan River, Western Australia.

Species closely related to another legumious plant of Australia; Oxylobium retusum, "a handsome greenhouse shrub, native of King George's Sound in New Holland, whence seeds were brought by Mr. J. Richardson. The specimens…were communicated from Mr Colvill's nursery, under the name of Callistachys capitata. Wild specimens, collected in King George's Sound by Archibald Menzies, Esq., and preserved in the Banksian Herbarium…are obviously only different states of the same species."The plant depicted in this drawing, distinguishable from the Oxylobium retusum by variations in leaf and stem, "may be one of the forms above alluded to as existing in the Banksian Herbarium"
